You own the account. You pay Meta directly. Motion Path Media creates and manages your ads using the campaign budget you approve.

Your business account

Meta Business Suite brings your Facebook Page, Instagram account, and ad account together. The place that holds them is called a business portfolio.

Open Meta Business Suite (new tab)

First, check the business name. Meta opens the business selected in your signed-in session. Use the business selector at the top left to choose your own business. This link does not give Motion Path Media access.

I already have a business account
  1. Sign in with the Facebook account you use to manage your business.
  2. Select your business and open Settings → Business assets. Check Pages, Instagram profiles, and Ad accounts. A Facebook Page alone does not mean you already have a business portfolio or ad account.
  3. If you already run ads, keep that ad account. Check which business owns it before adding or creating anything. Include its name and ID in the setup email at the end of this guide.

Business missing from the selector? Sign in with the Facebook profile that manages it, or ask its owner to help. Don’t create a duplicate just because it isn’t visible from your current login.

I need to set one up
  1. The business owner signs in with their own Facebook profile. Open the business selector at the top left, then choose Create a business portfolio.
  2. Use your business name and an email address you control. Keep full control with your business owner and complete any email or security checks Meta requests.
  3. With your own portfolio selected, open Settings → Business assets to connect your existing Facebook Page and Instagram profile. If an asset belongs to another portfolio, ask its owner for help before making changes.
  4. Only if you have no suitable existing ad account, open Ad accounts → Add to create one in your own business portfolio. Check the owner, currency, and time zone before confirming. Do not add your account to Motion Path Media’s portfolio.

If you don’t have a Facebook Page, or Meta won’t let you finish setup, email Jesse with the step you’re on and what you see.

Share access

Once the agreement is signed, add Motion Path Media as a partner. The person with full control of your business portfolio completes this step.

Choose your business & open settings (new tab)

  1. Select your business, then open Users → Partners → Add → Give a partner access to your assets.
  2. Paste Motion Path Media’s business ID below. Check that Meta identifies the partner as Motion Path Media before continuing.
  3. Select your Page, ad account, and Instagram profile. Give only the agreed campaign permissions; keep ownership and billing control with your business.
  4. Save in Meta. When all three setup steps are finished, use Email Jesse: setup is ready below. Jesse will verify access before launch.

Jesse sent me an access request instead

Open business settings (new tab), select your own business, then open Requests. Review the request from Motion Path Media. Check the assets and permissions before approving. You only need one access method.

You keep ownership. Share access through Meta. Keep your Facebook password and sign-in codes private.

I can’t find the request or access settings

Open Meta Business Suite → Settings → Users → Partners if the shortcut doesn’t take you there. Check that you’ve selected the right business and are signed in with the account that manages it. If someone else owns or manages the business portfolio, they may need to approve access.

Set up payment

Your ad spend goes straight to Meta. Enter payment details in your own ad account. Motion Path Media does not collect your ad budget or payment details.

Open billing & payments (new tab)

  1. In Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager, open Billing & payments and check that your business and the correct ad account are selected. If the shortcut opens elsewhere, use Settings → Billing & payments.
  2. Open its payment settings and follow the prompts to add a payment method available for your account.
  3. If Meta requires prepaid funds, add funds directly there. If your account uses automatic billing, Meta charges your payment method as ads run.
  4. Complete any payment verification Meta requests. Confirm that billing is ready in your setup email. Do not include card details.

Adding billing does not launch an ad. Your approval of the ad and campaign budget is required before launch. For a practice setup, stop before adding funds or making a payment.

Do I pay Motion Path Media for the ads?

No. You pay Meta directly for ads. The service fee is separate: $0 for your introductory first month, then $500/month if you continue.

The campaign uses the budget you approve. Adding a payment method or prepaid funds does not replace that agreed budget.

Before launch

These must be in place before your ads go live:

  • Your signed agreement and brand materials.
  • Access to the correct business assets and ad account.
  • Billing ready for the agreed ad budget.
  • Your approval of the finished ad and campaign budget.

Stuck on a step?

Meta’s screens can vary by account. Describe which step you’re on and what you see. You can email a screenshot with payment details and sign-in codes hidden.

You can also work through setup with Jesse on a short phone or video call.
